Learn why QuantumWise becoming part of Synopsys is a big step forward for atomic-scale modeling!

Nov 02 2017

Following the press release on QuantumWise becoming part of Synopsys, we would like to share with you why this is a big step forward for atomic-scale modeling, “when every atom matters”.

Synopsys will integrate QuantumWise’s products for nanoscience, ATK and VNL, into its Design-Technology C

o-Optimization (DTCO) flows to make atomistic materials modeling integral to product development in a semiconductors application area. Importantly, our team in Copenhagen will continue developing the products for you, not only for modeling electronic devices and semiconductors, but generally for materials science, battery research, spintronics, and a large variety of research areas.

Among many other features, we will keep developing our

  • Plane-wave DFT module (released in a beta-version in VNL-ATK 2017) as a complement to the LCAO DFT module for studying periodic systems.
  • Force-field module which can be used, for example, to study amorphous materials, thin-films growth, calculate thermal conductivity, etc.
  • Tools for simulating batteries as part of the SIMBA project.

Our support team will also continue to support our users from academia, government labs and industry, as in the p

ast. If you have any inquiries, feel free to contact us by email: .
